The opening of Japan to foreign trade through the use of coercion by Foreign Nations

When the foreign trade field of US scattered at early 19th century , Japan had been practicing closed door policy and the seaports were closed for merchandising .Thus, the unsatisfied US president Millard Fillmore sent US navy officer Mathew C.Perry to open the door coercion .He learned details the history of Japan .He decided to to show Japan the military power to give the white flag. The two ships which thousands puff of smoke gone were sent to Tokyo Bay in July,1853. At that time ,Japan saw firstly those using warn water energy ships made by steel body.Perry who tight face and had full form of attacking fenced about 60 to 70 troops who held swords,pistols and rifles and then he requested to see the greatest powerful chief in Japan.Afraid " Togugawa " , the relatives of the king discussed one another , prepared battlefield and saved confidentially their precious items.But,at the end, Perry said that if the chief of Japan had not accepted discussion, Perry threatened to fire with cannons . So,Japan gave up because they have no choice . One year later, they opened the economy merchandising door. Not only Japan signed with US concerned about trading but also opened the economy door with Britain,Russia,Germany, and France .

Western Powerful countries signed with Japan one-sided contract which controlled the trading and tax assessment policy of Japan just like china. Foreigner in Japan got legal privilege. Japanese thought that law was not perfect and equal. That law didn't apply to foreigners.

When the leader of Japan attacked foreign ships ported at Shimonoseki Bay, Japan, Britain, France, Dutch(Netherlands) and American ships not only destroyed fortresses and ships of Japan but also got a lot of compensations. From that time, Japan was handled the strings of other countries in the politics of Japan.
